Our origin story
We started SkillTalk after realizing that many students have incredible potential but lack access to the guidance, mentorship, and opportunities needed to reach it. Throughout high school, our team sought out research experiences, leadership positions, competitions, and conversations with professionals — and noticed how difficult it was to find reliable advice without already knowing the right people.
SkillTalk was created to bridge that gap. Our mission is simple: connect students with experts, researchers, physicians, entrepreneurs, and professionals through conversations, workshops, and educational resources that inspire action. Rather than simply telling students what to do, we help them understand why opportunities matter and how to pursue them.
Since launching, we've been building a growing community through hands-on workshops and educational content focused on STEM, healthcare, leadership, entrepreneurship, and college readiness. Because talent is everywhere — opportunity should be too.
